For over a year I’ve been getting around in a wheelchair and later progressing to a walker, crutches, and cane. When I’m sporting a fire shirt onlookers seem to correlate the two. When a conversation ensues I often sense a feeling of universal disappointment when I admit this happened to me recreationally – because of my own choices.
I wish that weren’t the case. I wish my injuries somehow happened for the good of others. I wish I broke my leg so someone else didn’t have to break there’s.
How does one reconcile the loss of a passion, camaraderie, and a career with a desire to remain a part of that group. Do you simply proceed to the exit and fade into obscurity?
I would love nothing more than to suit up again, hit the ground, and swing a tool with my bros. Right now other things take precedence though. Like, how am I going to get groceries with both hands committed to crutches or how am I going to get my shoes on if I’m unable to reach my feet.
We are told that these are the times that test us – the times that reveal our true character. That idea, and the myriad quotes about staying positive do nothing to make this easier. I can only guarantee one thing – I will not give up.

Fire, Life and The Rest 
You are in a battle every day and your will NOT TO GIVE UP CONTINUE ON SAYS MUCH.. We decide how we will accept the day, will we give up and not accept the poor me
attitude or will I we grab our boots( in spirit) and continue on and fight fight fight and
not give up. I know as you do this is the hardest thing one can do.
People that don’t understand seem to be the ones with the mouth to decide to tell you or
me what we did wrong. God and you . Trust and Obey,sounds simple,I wish it was,, I have
found out for my own life it is not that simple. Do not give up but continue on and make the
ones that don’t understand come to understand through YOU.
A very special friend was told by some of his ( FRIENDS, IN KOREA THAT THEY WANTED
TO GIVE UP AND QUIT) My friend said to them NOT ME, I WILL NOT I WILL GET OUT AND GO
HOME, AND HE DID. He had many problems,He never gave up,even to this day. and I
mean
it from my heart WHAT A MAN. He will be 80 and I have another person to look up to.
He under stood as you do, what a man has to do. Yes he messed being part of what happened and I feel as the two of you. TRUCK ON AND SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS FOR
OTHERS AS WELL AS YOURSELF . You will make a mark on someone that needs this .
